The Oakmont Experience
My mom has been a resident at Oakmont San Antonio Heights for almost three years. I don't think I fully appreciated the quality of her living situation until the last few weeks. My mom suffered a fall and needed hip replacement. My mom will be returning home tomorrow after surgery to a full array of help from familiar faces. Ten days in a skilled nursing/rehab hospital is a stark reminder of how much we need places like Oakmont to care for our elderly. I am so thankful that she sold her house and moved to assisted living before we were up against the wall with a health crisis. I know she will be well cared for at Oakmont.

My aunt, with dementia, lives at Oakmont. They are so kind and understanding. They push her to leave her room, try puzzles and interact, while still understanding her difficult days. I truly don’t know how they do it! I visit often and they are always so accommodating and welcoming. What a special place! Highly recommended!

Her geriatric assessments have gone down very little because of the activities, socialization and absolutely lovely staff. The facility is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and through the difficult process of Covid, we always know she is in safe and caring hands. These folks have become family to us, and I would advise anyone to tour this wonderful facility.

Every need of the resident is met including activities, beauty salon, medical care, pharmacy delivery, excellent food, communication with family, and strong support during the transition from home to Oakmont.
